Team Tappoos Wins Challenge
The Tappoos team of Kaushal Tappoo, Laura Cunning, Haroon Ali and Paul Yui took out the 2010 Fiji's Greatest Charity Golf Challenge at Denarau on Saturday! The team returned with a score of 125.50 to claim the title off the Spastic Centre team who won last year and returned to defend their title.

Team Tappoos won themselves a return trip to Sydney with the support of Air Pacific to participate in the NSW Charity Golf Challenge scheduled for November at the Macquarie Links Golf Course.

In second place for the second time in a row was Team Joes Farm who came in with a score of 127.50. The team made up of Michael Joe, Russell Dunham, Waqa Bauleka and Vikrant Chandra won themselves a night at The Pearl South Pacific Resort with a round of golf and massage treatment, courtesy of The Pearl.

Ilisoni Koroi took out BSP's Long Drive Championship, claiming the title for the fourth time, with a massive hit of 288 meters. Sylvia Joe won the ladies title with a drive of 254 meters. Vonu Beer's Chipping Champions were Michael Broadbridge and Chris Campbell, each taking home a carton of Vonu Beer. ANZ's 5th Hole Surprise was won by the Hancock brothers of Sydney, Australia.

Nadina Restaurant ladies took out the best dressed golf team in their bright Fijian prints and outfit.

The event was a huge success with golfers enjoying the beautiful weather and course and dinner guests winding down at the Mardi-Gras held under the stars on the lawn of the Denarau Golf Club. Band Divine and some surprise artists from amongst the dinner guests entertained everyone with inspiring numbers.

A total of $21,766 was raised from auctions and pledges at the Mardi-Gras dinner, $15,000 of which was pledged by visiting guests from The Spastic Centre, Australia.

The staging of Fiji's Greatest Charity Golf Challenge is part of continued efforts to raise funds to help fund the rollout of the early intervention training for families, teachers and caregivers of children with disabilities the CAL Training Programme, which is administered by The Spastic Centre; and help support the needs of the Fiji Crippled Children Society.

The event is organised by Friends of Hilton and the National Golf Association of Fiji (NGAF).
