Entry Requirements
Fiji welcomes visitors and to facilitate easy entry everything has been done to make process as pleasant as possible. A valid passport for least three months beyond the intended period of stay and a ticket for return or onward travel are required.
Declaration to Customs Prior to arrivals in Fiji, you will be asked to complete a declaration about goods that you have in your possession or in the baggage accompanying you or your family. Banking Following Banks are represented by Fiji's Banking industry ANZ Bank Ltd., Bank of Baroda, Colonial National, Habib Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation.ᅠ
Credit Card Most of the tourist retail outlets and Hotels in Fiji accept major credit cards like American express, Diners Club, Visa, JCB International, Master card.
Currency The Basic unit of currency is Fijian Dollar and denominations of $50, $20, $10, $5, $2 notes and $1, 50c, 20c, 10c and 5c coins are available. There is no restriction on the amount of currency which you may bring into Fiji but export restrictions do apply. If you are carrying more than $500 in Fiji currency or $ 1,000 in overseas currency you should declare it to a Customs officer on arrival if you intend to take it with your when you leave Fiji.
Tax/Dutiable Goods Fiscal duty and VAT are levied on all goods in excess of concessions, Fiscal duty rates vary depending on the goods, whereas VAT is uniformly applied at 12.5%. VAT is applied to a base which includes the value of the goods plus any fiscal duty payable.
Duty/VAT Free Concession Every passenger is entitled to the following duty and VAT free concessions :
ᅠᅠᅠ * Dutiable goods accompanying passengers (other than alcohol & tobacco product) not exceeding F$400 in value.
Goods owned by passengers and not intended as gifts or for sale:
ᅠᅠᅠ * Personal effects; and Household effects for returning residents (must be used for 12 months prior to departure) or intending residents.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Articles taken out of Fiji on departure on which duty and tax have been paid.
Each passenger, of 17 years or more, may also bring into Fiji, duty and VAT free, the following goods provided they are accompanied and are not for sale:
ᅠᅠᅠ * 2 x lt spirit or 4.5 litres of wine ᅠᅠᅠ * or 12 pack beer ᅠᅠᅠ * and 250 cigarettes or 250g tobacco or 50 cigars
Quarantine
ᅠᅠᅠ * The following items need to be declared for quarantine purposes:
ᅠᅠᅠ * Food of any kind.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Plants or parts of plants - live or dead, including seeds, bulbs, nuts and wooden articles.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Earth, rock, soil or mineral samples.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Animals or parts of animals - live or dead including coral, shells and goods made from protected wildlife.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Equipment used with horses or other animals.
ᅠᅠᅠ * Biological specimens or tissues - human or animal.
